I began taking pictures as a hobby at the age of fifteen, but photography has grown into a major passion. For many years it was a chance to explore personal visions outside of my day job as a graphic designer. Much of my free time has been spent stalking the streets and alleys of Vancouver or tramping along the trails and ridges in the surrounding Coastal mountains, searcing for those elusive moments when the light hits a scene just right and an image is revealed.
Today, I continue shooting urban and natural landscapes almost exclusively in my hometown and throughout the varied terrain of southwestern British Columbia and the Okanagan. My inspiration comes from photographers such as Fred Herzog and Stephen Shore as well as formal landscape painting and film cinematography.
